The golden ration to measure the coffee per cup is 1:15 to 1:18. Where 1 is a standard cup of water and 15 or 18 is the grams of ground coffee you need to add. And 18 grams being the strongest coffee and 15 grams being the moderate coffee. However, you can still alter the ratio according to your tastes and preferences. But before making a coffee you need to make sure of few things such as:
- Determine the amount of coffee you need to brew
- Follow the golden rule ratio, that is 1:15 or 1:18
- Measure using the right apparatus
- Follow the same procedure for brewing like you always do
- And you can add sugar or sugar cubes if necessary

The rule followed for cup of coffee Chemex is slightly different from that off french press. The ratio we use here 1:16, that is one gram of coffee for 16 grams of water. A standard Chemex holds the capacity of 900 milliliters or grams of coffee. So, inorder to make a coffee in Chemex you need to 56 grams of coffee. (900/16 = 56)

The recommended rule for a cup of coffee through Aeropress is same as we do in French press. That is we need to follow 1:15 rule, one being one gram of coffee for 15 grams or millilitres of water. And as mentioned earlier, for a standard cup which holds the capacity of 240 grams, you need 16 grams of coffee.
